Hi Rosi
Have you had any experience of rehab for fractures to the ankle. I fractured my tibia above the ankle on 4th April. I have received physio once a fortnight since the beginning of July. I have reduced flexibility and stiffness at front of foot. I stretch the ankle using calf stretching variatons and ice afterwards.
Can you estimate how long it takes to recover from such and injury as i’m eager to begin mma training.
Thanks
Marcus
Hi Marcus
Thanks for the message. Unfortunately, it’s not really possible for me to give advice about your specific injury over the internet – these things can be quite variable! Your physio is probably in the best position to offer an opinion. I wish you all the best with the recovery and your MMA training
Rosi
Dear Rosie,
I’m currently considering returning to study as a mature student. At 26 years old I already hold a degree in Music Technology, but I’m looking for a complete career change by potentially returning to study Osteopathy or Physiotherapy.
Like yourself, I come from a sports background. Because of this I intend to take my personal trainer’s qualification and work as a PT to finance my course.
As a “4/5ths” Osteopath : ) do you have any advice as to which profession you would study if you were in my position? I have read plenty of articles online that highlighted the main differences between Physio, Osteo and Chiro and having been treated by practitioners of each discipline I’m coming to the conclusion that like anything, there are good physio’s, osteo’s and chiro’s as there are bad ones! Whilst it doesn’t seem vitally important which discipline I choose to study, the more I read the more I’m finding myself drawn to Osteopathy.
How did you personally decide on Osteopathy and what influenced your choice of studying at Oxford Brookes? I attended an open day at the BSO this week and thought it was excellent. I’m due to visit a number of other institutes later this month.
Many Thanks,
George
